HOW TO BURN SOY CANDLES

Soy wax has what’s known as a memory. This means the way your candle burns the first time will affect how it burns every time after.

  • On the first burn, allow the wax to melt all the way to the edge of the container before extinguishing. This helps prevent tunnelling, ensures an even burn, and delivers maximum fragrance. If the wax does not fully pool on the first burn, wax may remain along the sides of the jar.
  • Keep your wick trimmed to approximately 1/4 inch. This helps prevent smoking and soot. Avoid over-trimming, as a wick that is too short may be difficult to relight.
  • If the wick is not trimmed regularly, the candle is exposed to drafts, or it is burned for too long, a carbon “mushroom” may form on the wick. This can cause light soot on the inside of the container. If this occurs, extinguish the candle, allow it to cool, gently wipe away the residue with a clean damp cloth, trim the wick, and relight.

APPEARANCE

Please note that all candles are hand-poured. While every effort is made to ensure consistency, each candle will have its own unique characteristics.

With soy wax, you may notice slight colour variations, darker patches, or wet spots along the glass. This is not a defect—simply a natural occurrence where the wax has not fully adhered to the container. These cosmetic variations do not affect the performance of the candle.

The surface of your candle may also appear uneven at times, which is a natural result of hand-poured soy wax and will not impact burn quality or fragrance.

To preserve the appearance and shape of your candle, avoid placing it in direct sunlight.

Safety First

Keep away from children, pets, curtains and drafts.

Place candle on a heat-resistant surface.

Stop burning when 10mm of wax remains.
